Maxi Dress Love.

My whole life I have had the hardest time finding pants, shorts, skirts, dresses etc. that are long enough for me. So obviously I love the maxi dress; super long and comfy....no need to worry about it being tooooo short :)
I had been on the hunt for the perfect maxi dress for quite sometime and my search finally
ended upon finding this gem in Leavenworth while my husband and I
were there for our anniversary weekend.
I found this maxi by Lush, in a cute little boutique called JT Blue (who btw has TONS of other cute stuff). The fabric is super comfy, soft, flowy, drapey and I love the neutral color. That was a big thing for me also, neutral color...as most of the maxi dresses I have seen have been pretty bright/colorful.

I paired it with this statement necklace from Anthropologie that I am absolutely in love with and
a pair of Birkenstocks. I Love Birks and I don't care about the bad wrap they get from
Pacific Northwesters wearing them with socks. haha (I don't do that) lol

Speaking of Birkenstocks, upon arriving to Gas Works Park where these photos were taken... we stumbled upon a random hippie jam fest. It was nice to relax together in the warm summer weather,
while listening to chill tunes.

Cutest.kite.ever. OWL!

Listening to the tunes....

House boats! I have wanted to live in one ever since seeing Sleepless in Seattle, when I was a child...

Have a good rest of your week :)

Music Monday

In hopes of adding some consistency to this blog of mine, I decided to start a weekly blog post called "Music Monday".  Clever or original title? No, but that's what it shall be because that's what it is haha.

Music always makes me feel good and who doesn't need a pick me up on a Monday?
So, I will be sharing a music video every Monday in which I am currently really lovin' and who knows, maybe one of you out in the blogosphere will be lovin' the same thing too!

(Don't mind the first few seconds of this video, it's weird and has nothing to do with the song itself lol)

Hope you enjoy these weekly music posts and feel free to post your current favs in a comment below :)

One Great Dad + Green Grape.

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there!
Especially to my dad :)
He is such a great and loving father and always worked hard to provide for our family
while I was growing up.
I am lucky.

This is a photo of my dad and I when my mom and him came down to Texas to help my husband and I move back to Washington. A great example of how my Dad is always willing to help out.

Somewhere in sunny California, on one of our many coffee breaks. <3 you Dad!

Green Grape.

I never paint my nails. Ever.
I generally don't see what the point is in spending all that time applying coat after coat,
just to have your pretty new polish chip the next time you go to use your hands.
BUT lately, I have been feeling the urge to doll up my nails with a pretty pastel-ish color.

Sooo yesterday I picked up Gargantuan Green Grape by OPI. While looking at the enormous and somewhat overwhelming selection of colors, I was instantly drawn to this unusual green hue.

I also picked up a pretty light pink by OPI called Got a Date To-Knight.
I love OPI's creative names of their colors.

What is your current favorite nail polish color?

Ca Phe Sua Da(Is so delish!)+Cute New Coasters.

So we got a new coffee table last week and with a coffee table comes the need for coasters. I wanted some vintage inspired, tile ones....so off to Etsy I went. I found the most adorable coasters made by a PNW company called robotcandy located in Portland. I instantly fell in love with these unique, handmade little guys and knew I had to order a set.

I know coasters are kind of a random household item, but if you are wanting a new set...go check these guys out. They have a TON to choose from!

The four I picked:

Love.

Now, onto the Ca Phe Sua Da. If you don't know what this is, or have never had it...boy oh boy, are you missing out. It is basically heaven in a cup. It is Vietnamese iced coffee and it is AMAZING and also guaranteed to blow any double shot out of the water. I first tried this awhile back at our favorite local Pho House and ever since I have been dying to buy all the necessities to recreate this at home.

I ordered a set of Phin Filters (the coffee filter needed to make this heavenly nectar) and received them in the mail this week.  I suggest if you have any coffee lovin' bone in your body, you try this at your favorite Vietnamese restaurant and then order a set of Phins for home.
Worth it. Totally.

The Essentials:
Vietnamese Dark Roast Coffee, Longevity Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk and a Phin Filter.

Boil water. Put a few spoonfuls of condensed milk in cup. Place Phin on top of cup and then add a few tbls of coffee into filter.

Packing down grounds with the gravity insert.

Pour a little bit of boiling water into phin and let drain through to saturate the grounds and then fill up the filter the rest of the way.

Put on the lid. Watch as the coffee filters through, this takes sometime....but is enjoyable to watch the process.

Done! All the water went through the filter :)

Fill cup with ice.

Stir Well...

Pour over ice.

Enjoy :D

Hope this has inspired fellow coffee lovers to try this, if you haven't already! To buy a set of Phins check out your local Vietnamese/Asian market to see if they have any, ours didn't, so I order my set from here:

Have a great weekend!

Delicate Floral Scarf

I love scarves, but most definitely do not own enough of them, especially scarves that can be worn in the spring/summer months.  When my mom and I were on our little mini-vacation in Cannon Beach, I found this delicate, sheer scarf at one of the little cute boutiques. Upon seeing it, I instantly fell in love with the light blue color, adorned with adorable little pink flowers and little pom-pom balls on the edges.

My wonderful mom purchased it for me and I couldn't be more pleased about it :D
